Sam came to Grand Forks to attend UND. During his last semester, he felt the pressure to find employment after graduation. With his mind set on wanting to work in Economic Development, he was lucky enough to run into an employee of the Grand Forks Region EDC at a community event months before he was set to graduate. The employee set Sam up to meet with many Community leaders focused on Economic Development in the Greater Grand Forks Region. Almost all of them suggested that I apply for the recently vacant Executive Director role for GGFYP. I applied for the role and have been employed by GGFYP since September of 2021; first as a part time Program Coordinator, and since January of 2022, Executive Director. Serving in this position has been the opportunity of a lifetime, as it has introduced Sam to a variety of business and community leaders all throughout Greater Grand Forks!
