In 2010, I was a young hungry entrepreneur starting my first business.
My first mentor was my Dad.
He showed me that building a construction business, even without a college degree, was doable. It became my #1 passion after years of working alongside him in his business.
While he showed me how to:
Be a great contractor
Pay attention to tiny details
Put your clients above all else
âĶI was missing a key skillset in my first business.
Asking for help.
I thought I had to do everything, and it became the enemy of progress.
As MAK construction grew, I started to burn out.
Mindset mistakes I made in those early years:
Micromanaged employees
Tried putting out every fire
Too stubborn to learn from others
Feared others would destroy what I built
I melted down as my company kept growing.
After feeling like sh*t for long enough, I started to ask for help.
George Hedley was my first mentor and coach.
I found him on social media.
He helped me understand the business side of construction.
This allowed me to play to my strengths, delegate to A players, and stop wearing 30 different hats at once.
How to create a business plan
How to delegate and elevate
How to create SOPs & KPIs
Finally, I was running my business instead of it running me into the ground.
From that moment on, I was hooked on mentors.
The people closest to me determine my level of success or failure. The better they are, the better I am. And if I want to go to the highest level, I can do it only with the help of other people. We have to take each other higher. â John C. Maxwell
Today, mentors are my favorite investment.
Iâve invested thousands in mentorship to:
Level up my mindset
Learn from others ahead of me
Grow from 7 to 8-figure revenue
Avoid pitfalls and costly mistakes
Accelerate my business & wealth goals
Now I want to pay it forward and help other construction and real estate professionals accelerate their goals.
Over the coming weeks, Iâll be taking on a select few people to coach 1-on-1.
If you want to learn how toâĶ
Grow your business to 6-7 figures
Expand into real estate development
Invest in your first real estate project
Grow your personal wealth to 6-7 figures
